Potpourri
You know.....like that Jeopardy! catagory with a little of everything.
I got this lotion for Christmas and it smells SO good!!!
Read this book (LOVE!) and changed a lot of stuff around our house this week.
Really needed it, thanks Mom!
And speaking of my Mom, this tile backsplash is being installed in my parents kitchen this week.
This tile is much less yellow in person! It's a beautiful creamy neutral and I can't wait to see it all done!!
I've been helping them with their kitchen remodel since last summer. It has included new appliances, cabinets, countertops, sink and fixtures, paint, lighting and hardware, and now the backsplash. Flooring will be next, I know my parents are anxious to get this all done. We've also been working on their office and guest bedroom, I'll be taking some pictures to post soon. The next order up is their master bedroom and bath.
For Christmas I helped my Dad pick out some gorgeous Coral prints and a pair of lamps my Mom had been eyeing for a while. The lamps are similar to this one.
We found them at Ross, they are beautiful and the quality is outstanding! Imagine them against some creamy chocolate walls....yummy! Hopefully this weekend the weather will warm up so we can get out of the house and go look at some paint colors, it's been -30 for the past three days!! Can't wait for it to warm up!
This week I also started (home) school with Jude. Stanley and I were both home schooled, him almost his whole life and me just through high school. I LOVED being home schooled!!! I got to work part time, play basketball and volleyball and travel a TON with my Aunts. It's also where Stanley and I met! We made the choice before we had children that we would home school as well and I am really excited to get started! We have this AWESOME curriculum from Timberdoodle and he is LOVING it, as am I! He keeps asking if he can do more school work.....I wonder how long that will last!?
Also getting REALLY excited for Valentines Day because we have our big ultrasound that day! Do you think since it's a "pink" day we'll be having a girl?? ; )

Wisdom from Mr. Goodwill Hunting
I've been kind of bummed lately. I'm realizing that all of the things I want to do around the house are going to take much longer than I thought. This whole house needs paint and a lot of it. Don't even get me started on the all of the pink cabinetry/counter tops. I'd like to swap out light fixtures, get some new area rugs, finish all my upholstery projects, etc., etc.
I know that in the grand scheme of things this is not important. These things really don't matter in the end. So many people, even in this country, go without and here I am complaining about my pink kitchen!? It is a constant struggle for me as a Christian to find the balance between living in this world and being "not of it". In my opinion Rashon Carraway aka Mr. Goodwill Hunting (aka my brother from another mother-we totally have kindred spirits! I'd rather spend the day thrifting or at garage sales than at Bergdorfs/Barneys, etc! SERIOUSLY!) said it best here..."as i have said before, i would be just fine with a couch, a mattress and a 55 inch plasma mounted on an empty wall, but i will not squander the gifts GOD has graciously entrusted in me. yall aint sayin much rite dere. just one amen will do...lol" LOL! AMEN Rashon!!
So, to sum up..... I have so many plans, and ideas.......but not so many funds. ;) I'll get to it all eventually and post updates when I do. Until then I'll be enjoying our new home with my boys!

House for Sale!!!
This has been such a crazy week! We got the house listed on Tuesday finally and we've had a few showings so far. You can see our listing here.
There are some very exciting things going on and I hope that I can share them with you soon. Until then, please bear with me! I may be MIA for a few days at a time because of showings, kiddo's, life etc.

Counter tops and some Easter fun!!!
Our counter tops are FINALLY in!!!!!!! It's been a long road but it has definitely been worth it! If you are curious to see how they turned out check out the newly updated House Tour tab.I will post before and after shots once I track down the before pics! Now that we have all of the work done our house goes on the market later today...wish us luck!
On Friday I filled you in on our crazy weather, I am happy to report it was sunny and warm yesterday! We had a wonderful service at church and got to spend time with our families, doesn't get much better than that! We even got a picture of all 5 of the grandkids', (on The Mans side of the family) which is pretty rare since they range in age from 5 yr. to 10 months.
We had a great day and J got to hunt for Easter eggs at both of his Grandparents houses! He got so much candy that last night The Man and I had to hide it all. Here he is in action.

(These pictures are from my parents house. We didn't have any solo shots of J from my in-laws and didn't want to give his cousins face time on the old blog for their parents and their own privacy. I choose to post pictures of my kids but I wouldn't want to make that decision for someone else....know what I mean??)
The highlight of the day for me was getting to see "Mimi". She is my cousins Grandmother (but has also been such for my brothers and I) and has been in the hospital for some time now with some serious health issues. She was able to leave for the evening and eat dinner with us and it was such a blessing! Here she is with Baby P, who absolutely LOVES her. (So much so that when she was leaving he gave her a big kiss, so sweet!!)

Hurry up and Wait
I have to apologize for my posts as of late. We have been so busy getting the house ready to sell, I have hardly had time to cook dinner much less type up a blog post! Since we will be listing it this Friday (counter tops have to be installed on Thursday instead of Friday-a happy surprise that bumps up our list date-Yay!) and will no doubt have some serious showings, I can't start ANY new projects! : (
I feel stuck in this holding pattern right now. I have bolts of fabric crammed into a closet upstairs, hundreds of ideas bouncing around in my head, images galore saved on the computer for reference later and tons of furniture just waiting to be shown some TLC. It's driving me crazy not being able to do anything with it! So you guys will just have to bear with me and my DIYless posts for a couple more weeks. But believe me when I say your wait will be worth it!! I have TONS of great stuff for our next house!
On a different note, I am really excited to post the Before and After shots of our Bathroom and Kitchen! Look for them on Friday. I'll have some client sneak peeks coming soon too!

Potpourri
As in a bunch of different stuff thrown together......like this post. :)
Friday was such a busy day for me. I went shopping and out to lunch with one of my best friends. We had a great time! We found tons of cute stuff to decorate her nursery for baby boy # 4 who is due in August. I bought these pillowcases at Ross-$3.99 for the pair.
They remind me of these ones from West Elm that are now on sale for $14.99 each
A big thank you to The Man who watched J and baby P while we shopped and lunched (after he worked a 16 hour day on Thursday I might add)!! But while the cat's away the mice will play..........I came home to this.
Such a "Dad thing" to do! Not sure if I can handle this haircut....time will tell I guess.
My best friend from high school and her husband just got back from Africa where they've been since September, so we went to see them Friday afternoon. After 40+ hours of travel they were pretty jet-lagged but The Man and I had so much fun catching up with them. They purchased a 1958 trailer that she will be living in this summer while he is in Alaska and let me just say it is awesome! We brainstormed about wallpaper, flooring, paint, fabrics and lighting. I am so excited to see what she decides to do and I'll definitely post some pictures soon! Until then you should all check out the Old Mac Daddy Luxury Trailer Park. Honey Mustard Popsicles
Do you ever have "one of those days"? That was yesterday for me. I slept horribly the night before. J decided he wanted to watch two movies...at the same time. RIP brand new DVD player!
He also dumped a whole bag of crushed up graham crackers all over the kitchen floor and Baby P had a blast playing in the one thing you NEVER want your children to touch, much less play in..............
Yup.
Most days I have it all together; I can multitask with the best of them. Changing diapers, folding laundry, sourcing items for clients, cleaning, cooking, I can do it all. But once in a while I have a day that just feels off.
When The Man got home from work yesterday we had a bunch of stuff to go through in the basement. He worked down there while I folded laundry and the kids played.....it was quiet, calm (for the most part)...I breathed a little easier. I went down to help The Man out for a minute. When we came upstairs we found this situation in the kitchen.
J was making himself some popsicles.
I looked at The Man, The Man looked at me, we both looked at J........................and laughed. We cleaned up the mess and moved on.
These kind of days remind me of this song:
This is the stuff, that drives me crazy,
This is the stuff that getting to me lately,
In the middle of my little mess, I forget how big I'm blessed!

Stalker
I'm being followed. By an area rug.
The Safavieh indoor/outdoor rug has been following me all over bloggyland this week.
Jenny at Little Green Notebook blogged about it in August of 2009 (seen here) but I somehow stumbled across it just this week.
Then Kirsten at 6th Street Design School posted a tour of her Kitchen and Dining room (which is gorgeous by the way!! Check it out!) Anyway, guess who was there? That's right Mr. Safavieh himself. (She also posted about him here)

I have to say after seeing him in Kirsten's home he's starting to grow on me. I was pretty skeptical about his "true" colors from just viewing him online, but he's much more brown than yellow in true light. I also love the fact that he's an indoor/outdoor rug! If we have a dining room that requires a rug in our new house, I just may have to get him.

Some new house pics and a few thoughts
I have finally gotten around to updating the House Tour tab with new photos. Living room and Dining room shots are up now! There is so much I would change if we were staying in this house. However, since we will be moving sometime in the near future, Lord willing, I'm not changing anything. Once we are moved......different story!
I have so many projects to do once we move! But between preparing to move our four person household, house hunting, packing and all the plans bouncing around in my brain, it can get overwhelming. Not only do will we have to pack up our whole house, we have also been storing almost half of our possessions in my parents garage (thanks Mom and Dad!) and will have re-move all of that too! Yikes, makes me tired thinking about it!
I'm so excited about the next step for our family though! It will be a long hard process, but SO worth it! Just the thought of being able to send the boys outside to play makes me giddy!! (Right now we live on a one way and have a concrete courtyard. Doesn't leave many child friendly places to play!!)
