Nursery light fixture

Just wanted to post a picture of the real light fixture that will be installed in baby # 3's nursery. Here are the moodboards again, featuring the most similar light fixture that I could find online.

And here is the real deal.

It's pretty dusty right now but it only cost, get this...............$3.50!!
I got it at my local ReStore!
(Please excuse my messy desk in the background!)

Here's a close up of all the pretty details.

Looking forward to getting things in the nursery started soon!

The look for less and some Chiang Mai Dragon DIY

Arteriors Home Forest Park Distressed Silver Floor Lamp $828.91

Midnight Velvet's Silver Branch floor lamp $99.00

Last but not least go check out what the EXTREMELY talented Shannon Berrey did!

Handpainted Chiang Mai Dragon Toms! Brilliant!!!!

Master bedroom light fixture

Bought a light fixture, similar to the one below, for our bedroom last weekend.

Ours is a little bit bigger and the glass pieces are square at the top (not curved) and pointed like an arrowhead at the bottom. Trust me, it's pretty sweet! Plus this one is selling for $225 on Etsy right now and I got mine for just $18!!

Now to just get my Dad over to hang it..............and the other 6 light fixtures I need hung.

Love you Dad!!   : )

Our ultrasound went great on Tuesday, I'm working on the post now.......what's your guess?

Boy or girl?????????

Because it's too good not to post.........

Pendant: $69.99

Go get it!!

Lately

Well, it's safe to say that I am definitely nesting right now. Been really busy around the house, cleaning, organizing and of course painting (do I ever stop?)

I should be done painting the nursery tomorrow and I just finished the hallway last week. I also was able to snag my Dad for a few hours and have him hang a chandelier in our dining room (thanks Dad!!). My father and mother in law bought me this for my birthday last year.

I loved everything but the shades, so I took them off and added these navy box pleated shades, which I got for a steal.

Here she is all hung up. Please excuse the peeled wallpaper and hideous faux rock in the background-future projects. The light needed to be hung over the table more and while I'd like to move the whole box, that just wasn't in the budget. Next best thing? Swag it. I still need to touch up the black cord with some gold paint but at least it is up.

My sweeties eating dinner....Phin is such a ham for the camera!

I love it!

Really makes me want to finish the rest of the kitchen/dining room....ah, all in good time.

By the way this is what I'm looking like these days, 25 weeks and counting! :)

TGIF........

Oh how I wish that were true! This is not Friday for me. You see my hubs doesn't get weekends off. He gets two days off (usually) during the week but they are RARELY back to back. So for all of you who have Monday-Friday jobs and get to spend the whole weekend with your family...........I am SO jealous!!!!!

Next weekend, however he is taking (fingers crossed) a four day weekend and it can't come soon enough. In order to take the time off he is working straight through this weekend and coming week. It's going to be a long week!

In other news, things are starting to come together around the old casa Waddell. I have a ton of projects on my plate right now but at least I am making progress.....slow and steady wins the race, right?! I'm going to be stripping a vintage dresser soon and I think I am going to try my hand at liming it.

So beautiful!!!

Have any good tutorials/advice for me? I really love the look but I'm a little worried because I have no clue what kind of wood this dresser is made out of. It's not particle board or anything (it's vintage Thomasville) but it may have some kind of veneer. I guess I'll find out soon enough.

Oh and remember this hardware? It will be going on the dresser when I'm done.

Can't wait to get it all done!

Also looky what I found.

$87.30-They also come in a black/dark finish.

Although I'm not loving the finish (Rub n' Buff to the rescue!!) I think this is a great budget friendly look-a-like to the Circa Lighting sconces we've all seen everywhere!!

Hope you have a fabulous weekend!!!!!

By the way, what do you think of Pinterest's new layout??

I kind of love it, SO much better than timeline on Facebook!

My Dad is THE best!!

He spent this morning, his day off, installing some light fixtures for us. It is no easy task. Just imagine that everything that could go wrong, usually does. The people we bought this house from were CRAZY not suited for DIY anything, especially installing light fixtures. So, like I said my Dad is the best!Especially considering that I have new fixtures for almost every room in the house and will be putting him to work again in the near future. Love you Dad!!

First up we have this pendant in the kitchen, which is a little reminiscent of the Hicks pendant.

I still want to get an Edison bulb for it, much more cool looking that a standard white one.

He also put this number up in our master bedroom.....an awesome garage sale find for $17!!!

I love the arrow shape of the acrylic pieces!

Do you spy the new art in our room too??

Over the weekend I finished up the two paintings for our room and framed them. Here are some close ups.

Can't wait to get the rest of this room done and it may be sooner rather than later. We're toying with the idea of stripping that awful wall of wallpaper while Stanley is off this weekend. We'll see if I can talk him into it!   ; )

Chandelier update

My sweet in laws bought me this chandelier for my birthday (back in August).

I removed the glass shades, added a little Rub n Buff to it (it was much more silver than gold in person) and have been waiting to hang it in the dining room while I have searched for the perfect shades.

Enter this beauty.....navy box pleated, need I say more?

I actually got them for $15 a pair, they have since been marked back up to the original price of $50 a pair. They really are worth it though! They are beautifully made!!

I don't have the right size light bulbs yet so here is one shade balancing on the chandelier.

I can't wait to get this hung up!!!!!
