Nursery for Look, Linger, Love!
Chassity at Look, Linger, Love blog is expecting her second baby and is having a bunch of bloggers/designers cook up some gorgeous nurseries for her. And I....well I figured I'd play along, cuz I'm weird like that! ; )
New light and Kitchen update
A few weeks ago Laurel-Dawn at Abode Love blogged about this light fixture.
Isn't it pretty?!??
Especially the price.....$15.17!!!!!
I, however do not need a sconce. Bummer.
It got me thinking though because my parents replaced their foyer light and gave us the old one. Here it is before they took it down.
I love the smoky glass and the shape but not the matte black finish.
So with a little spray paint and elbow grease........
I love the way it turned out! I also took out all of the links but one since it will be hanging in our kitchen and we only have 8' ceilings.
Speaking of our kitchen, I figured that it was time for an update.We've been in our house for 10 weeks now, here are the before and afters.
(WARNING: Our kitchen is completely unstyled and a little dirty....ya know, just keeping it real.)
What's left to do: Faux rock will be painted white (along with the four X-back dining chairs) and I will most likely be wallpapering the top half of the wall. Make new curtains for dining room (The Man ordered me some gorgeous ikat fabric for my birthday!) Paint cabinets. Hang new chandelier. New hardware. Counter tops and dishwasher will be replaced, hopefully next spring.
What we've done: Painted soffit's and backsplash, removed the counter top broiler (it was under that marble slab on the counter) and the vent hood and added shelving. Also removed those saloon doors....who INSTALLS them??
What's left to do: Same as above....lots and lots of paint! :)
What's left to do: Pull out the old microwave and make a built in shelf for our stainless one.

Quiet Time
To say that the last two weeks have been tough would be a MASSIVE understatement! We've had croup, sinus and ear infections make the rounds, which has kept us home from church for the past two weeks. : ( The Man has worked a lot of hours, I have gotten little to no sleep. And conflict has been EVERYWHERE!
However,this morning on Facebook a sweet friend reminded me of this:
Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes, with your right hand you save me.
Psalm 46:1-2 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.

Computer cleanse
I have an inspiration file on my computer.
It contains photos from all over the web, collected over the past few years.
Before I had a blog or Pinterest came around this was all I had.
I have no idea where some of these are from though....so if you know a source please let me know!
