What I am cooking for Thanksgiving

For the last four years I have made this Nigela Lawson recipe for easy but super delicious roasted Butternut squash with gorganzola, pecans and fresh thyme. The only thing I do differently is remove the skin.

Seriously the easiest thing to make and it is to die for!!! LOVE it!!!!!

I'll be making it again this year, it's become a family favorite and I never have leftovers!

I found this recipe for Balsamic braised Brussels sprouts with Pancetta that looks AMAZING, so I'm making it too. I'll let you know how it is!

So, what do you cook for Thanksgiving?

The WHOLE meal?   Side dishes or pies?   Nothing?   :)

Share some recipes if you've got them and happy cooking!!

Baby # 3's nursery moodboards

We can't wait to find out what we're having!! I'll be about 20 weeks mid February so we'll have an ultrasound around then.

With two boys already it would be so much fun to have a girl but on the other hand....I LOVE having boys!

If it's another boy we'll go in this direction, using mostly what we already have:
nursery for baby boy

Originally I was going to do (almost) the same thing if it is a girl.....like this:
nusery #1 for baby girl

I'd make a crib sheet out of this otomi fabric:

But I just happened to glance at the cover of Decor magazine while at Home Depot this weekend and saw this dining room.

I love the jade green and orange color combo! It got me thinking........... my Dad just so happens to be an AMAZING artist and could totally hand paint a mural similar to that wallpaper!

So here is option # 2 if we have a girl:
nursery # 2 for baby girl

Suggestions???

News....

I've been working on a new project for a while now and I'm dying to share it with you.

It's a collaboration.

It's been EXHAUSTING to say the least!

I wanted to wait to tell you about it until I had a photo.

I cannot wait to see how it turns out.........................on June 30th 2012....give or take a few days.

Say hello to peanut baby # 3!!!!!!!!!!

Seven years ago...........

I married my best friend.

We were young, 19 and 20, and in love.

Seven years later, we're a little older, a lot wiser and still so in love! Happy Anniversary Stanley, I love you!!

Pink Armoire

Have you seen this post over at a' la mode?  It features photos of photographer Camille Blinn's (and her hubby's) home. This photo in particular stood out to me.

Why?

Because this is for sale on my local Craigslist for $125........

This would be such an easy and awesome DIY!!

If you're interested, let me know!!!!

Update on Jude's room

A couple weeks ago I finished painting Jude's room, although I haven't done much more since then I figured I'd show you my progress anyway. Here is his room the first time we looked at the house.

Here it is now, sorry about the dark photo, you can't really tell but the walls are the palest blue, much easier seen in the daytime. I'm usually not a big fan of short curtains but it had to be done here because of where the beds are. I really like the way they turned out!

I still have headboards and duvet covers to make. The headboards will be upholstered in a pea green velvet with brass nailhead trim. I also have an amazing moroccan pendant similar to this one, that needs to be installed.

And here are some shots of my boys, just for fun............

So sweet, have a great weekend!

Evolution of a gallery wall

The gallery wall in my Living room has been tweaked a few times so I figured I'd show you the progress. Here it is the night I finished it back in July.

You can see some of the frames are empty. This was a good starting point but I have painted and added to it since then. Here it is last month:

New paint, some new frames and prints...excuse the toys, paint can and car seat! :)

A few weeks ago the standouts of my boys (taken by Caroline Madsen) that I ordered arrived so I had to work them in. Here is what it looks like now:

I have so many different things but they really seem to work well together...a Robert Wood litho of the seventeen mile drive in Carmel.
                                        A framed vintage Vera scarf.
And the standouts of my boys.....LOVE these!!

Another close up.....just for fun. :)

I LOVE how this wall has turned out!!!
